That’s really when I start to lose it. I’ve seen the movie around 10241749865 times and honestly I can say that some of the sadder parts (like Mufasa’s death) in the Lion King just don’t faze me anymore. But once Elton John starts singing in the credits, it just puts all of those moments in perspective. It makes me remember what was actually going on around the time The Lion King was released. That song just brings so much nostalgia for me, and that’s where I really break down lol.
And also that song marks where the movie is truly over. I’m sitting there watching a blank screen, thinking what a f***ing amazing movie I just watched, and now it’s over lol. But also it makes me yearn for simpler times. And that’s where I feel that Timon and Pumbaa are wrong: I can’t put the past behind me, but like Rafiki said, I can learn from it :)
When the Lion King went in theaters this past September-October, I went there with a group of friends, all teenagers in high school or college. I expected more little children to be there, but in reality, all age groups were there.
I remember the cutest old couple sitting in front of me. They wouldn’t leave their seats until the credits had finished and Elton John stopped singing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight.” I remember a little girl behind me, bawling her eyes out and sniffling loudly when Mufasa died and Simba yelled for help. I then remembered her smiling, relieved when Timon & Pumbaa came. I remember a middle-aged man who laughed whenever Rafiki laughed and sounded EXACTLY like him. I remember my friend loudly yelling “RUN N***A!!” when the stampede scene started hahahaha XD.
So, yeah. I was surprised, and actually excited, to see the turnout for the movie. And I forgot to mention that it was in its fourth week running in theaters, and a lot of people still turned up to watch it. Disney can bring out the inner child out of everyone, and that’s truly what makes it magical. Disney really is one of the happiest places in the world. :)
A little bit disappointed by the results of NBA All Star Saturday
Deron Williams, who still holds the record for the fastest time in the Skills Competition (though that time as a Utah jazz member), failed to win after he missed ALL his shots. epitome of the Nets’ season
Then Anthony Morrow did something extremely classy by pulling out the Drazen Petrovic jersey (RIP!) for the 3-Point shootout. But he ended up placing last, when he was picked as the favorite to win! Wadafaq.
But, at the end of the day, I ain’t even mad. Go Nets! :)
Do you have any secret crushes here on tumblr now from harassing people so much on Pridelandproblems?
Ohh, definitely! Not like crushes, but more like favorites to troll around with. I have too many people so I guess I’ll shorten this list:
EVERYONE at the loltlkrpg group. (And let me add that this group has the best RPers ever, seriously making me asdfjkl; every time while reading some of their posts lol) But none of them let me poach them…wadafaq lol.
